This year's beneficiaries
Proud to Run donates 100% of proceeds from each year’s race to Chicago-area non-profit organizations who work to make the LGBTQ+ healthier, safer, and stronger.

Proud to Run has raised $700,000 for its beneficiaries in the past 40 years.

This year we have selected two organizations as our beneficiaries from donations like yours. Find out a little bit more about the Youth Empowerment Performance Project (YEPP) and Trans Up Front Illinois (TUF IL)

Trans Up Front
Illinois

Trans Up Front IL is dedicated to advancing inclusion, equity, and rights for transgender and gender-expansive youth, teens, and young adults through no-cost advocacy, education, and community action. We offer personalized, one on-one support to youth ages 4 to 25 and their families, helping them navigate challenges in school systems, healthcare settings, legal matters, workplace environments, and organizational policies. Our mission is to ensure that every trans and gender-expansive person feels supported, seen, and empowered to thrive.

Youth empowerment Performance project

YEPP strives to create a brave environment for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and Intersex (LGBTQI+) youth experiencing homelessness to explore their history, investigate new ways to address their struggles and to celebrate their strengths through personal, leadership and community development programming that incorporate different art-expression forms.
